Archive SKU
You can archive SKUs that are no longer available for sale in your Just Walk Out store using the catalog Excel template. This deactivates items from active inventory while maintaining historical records.
Excel Template Method
Archive SKUs by setting the operation field to "Archive" in the catalog template.
Required Fields

Process
- Download the catalog template from the Merchant Portal
- Populate the required fields (see image below):
- Enter the SKU in the
item_skucolumn - Set
operationfield to "Archive"
- Enter the SKU in the
- Upload the completed template through the Merchant Portal
Items Still in Store
If the item is still physically present in the store, you will see an error message in the processing report. Items cannot be archived while still on the shelf.
Important Notes
- A product cannot be archived until it is physically and virtually removed and replaced with a new item in all store locations. To replace the item, have an associate scan the new item using the handheld's Planogram tool.
- Archived SKUs are deactivated from active inventory but transaction history is preserved
- Once archived, SKUs cannot be scanned for new purchases
- You can reactivate archived SKUs by uploading them again with the standard catalog upload process
